Capability’s vision is to be a major ally in supporting disabled people to achieve full equality and to have the choice and control of their lives by 2020.
Our vision is to transform people’s expectations of what is possible and ensure that disabled people achieve equality. Capability aims to be the first choice for innovative personalised and sustainable services, which provide the necessary support so that disabled people can enjoy the same human and civil rights as everyone else. No two disabled people are the same, that’s why we develop our services to be flexible and meet the needs of the individuals. Capability provides services for children and young people with additional support needs and also for adults, including older people, with a range of impairments including physical and or learning disabilities and mental health issues. Capability delivers the following services for adults across Scotland community living services, residential accommodation, employment support, day services, respite short breaks, and therapy services.
Capability delivers the following services for children across Scotland, education, and learning including early years and out of school training, respite short breaks, family support, activity breaks, and residential care and therapy. Our specialist schools aim to provide an inclusive learning community for children and young people with additional support needs. Our holistic approach to education, incorporating therapy and social, personal, and nursing care is designed to enable every child to fulfill his or her potential.
