About This Shop
The Dove Cottage Tea Room provides homemade light lunches, sandwiches, and cakes for 7 days of the week and is staffed primarily by a team of dedicated and welcoming volunteers. All of the proceeds from the Tea Room go towards maintaining the running of the Hospice and is situated just down from the Hospice on Canal Lane near Stathern. The Tea Room building also houses the Stathern Charity Shop and makes for a lovely afternoon out either strolling along the banks of the canal, enjoying a delicious afternoon tea, or browsing in the Charity Shop.
Charity Shops
Dove Cottage currently runs five very successful charity shops in Stathern (situated above our Tea Room), Cotgrave, Bottesford, Asfordby, and Melton Mowbray. They operate through the support of our wonderful volunteers, and are always grateful for donations which can include anything from books to china tea sets; hats to lego! We have an active fundraising programme to generate the money needed each year to meet our costs. Fundraising is a vital part of Hospice life, as is the support of the community, and we are always looking for volunteers. There is a wide range of roles available and just a few hours of time given is so much appreciated.
