Prama is a Christian based Dorset charity set up in 1982 by local people for the benefit of local people. Our vision is of vulnerable adults and older people enjoying the independence of living in their own homes with the ongoing support from family, friends and community. Prama currently has local offices in Ferndown and Blandford, with our Head Office in Poole.
For details of Home Care Services, Domestic Support, Toenail Cutting, Carers Groups, Dementia Support projects and links with local churches please look on www.pramacare.co.uk. Our 320 Care Support Workers provided 191,000 hours of care in 2012/13 to our 800 clients. As a charity Prama provides a care fee subsidy to those on low incomes and our Charity shops help to fund this scheme.
One of Prama’s strategic aims in 2013 is to develop and expand our excellent group of volunteers. Thank you to all those who currently volunteer in our shops and to those who are reading this and now thinking about volunteering? Prama is also looking for volunteers for Carers groups (for the family member who also needs support) and for a wide range of charitable projects including for those living with dementia.
