About St Teresa's Hospice
About This Shop
St Teresa’s Hospice is an independent charity founded in 1986 and we provide free care and support to the people of South Durham & North Yorkshire. We do this via a range of services to support people with a life-limiting illness, and to support their direct carers, and other family members. We provide the following services free of charge:
Hospice at Home
Day Hospice
In-Patient Care
Complementary & Physio Therapies
Family Support & Bereavement Counselling
Carers Group
Rapid Response Service
The cost of our services is around £2m a year, and we rely on charitable donations, fundraising events, support from community organisations and businesses, our own shops, and legacies to be able to continue providing free care.
We now have 10 shops in our growing retail chain selling a wide range of quality items across our catchment area. We have specialist shops selling homewares and carefully hand-restored furniture, in addition to charity shops selling clothing and bric-a-brac. Our ‘Retail on the Road’ team takes our retail experience to the community with their pop-up shops.
