About Blythe House Hospice
About This Shop
Blythe House Hospicecare and Helen’s Trust provide free care to people across the High Peak, Hope Valley, Derbyshire Dales, and North East Derbyshire, who are affected by life-limiting illness and bereavement.
Blythe House offers advice and support from diagnosis through to bereavement, by providing a wide range of services including complementary and physical therapies; support groups; outpatient clinics; counseling, and bereavement support for adults and children. The Hospice at Home service, in partnership with Helen’s Trust, provides palliative and end-of-life care in the comfort of patients’ homes.
It now costs £ 2 million every year to keep services running; that’s just over £5,479 per day. The hospice receives less than 20% of its income from local NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups and must raise over 80% through fundraising and retail activities. Thanks to the remarkable generosity of the local community, the care and support Blythe House and Helen’s Trust provides remains completely free of charge. We have shops across Bakewell, Buxton, New Mills, Chapel-en-le-Frith, and a large department store in Whaley Bridge. All our shops offer a wide range of quality donated goods at extremely competitive prices, the sale of which generates essential funds to keep the hospice running. We also operate online stores, including eBay, that sell a selection of valuables, retro/vintage items, and collectibles. These online platforms give the hospice an excellent opportunity to make the most of our more exclusive, very generous donations, selling to customers all over the world. So why not pop into one of our Aladdin’s caves or surf our sites and bag yourself a bargain today?
