About Birmingham Settlement
About This Shop
Birmingham Settlement supports some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in Birmingham, including children, older people, and people in serious difficulty.
We are one of the oldest charities in Birmingham, having worked to support local people facing hardship since 1899. We strive to create pathways of opportunity and choice to help people out of the circumstances affecting them. We aim to assist individuals to gain the skills and understanding necessary to move forward with their lives, to enable and empower them to improve their own lives and communities in the ways that matter to them. We help people facing hardship and suffering of any kind by offering a range of tailored services, currently including money advice, support, and activities for children, families and older people, and community action and engagement on issues such as crime and unemployment.
Birmingham Settlement has six charity shops across the city that help to raise funds for our work, as well as provide local people the opportunity to buy affordable goods and to volunteer. Our shops sell clothes, toys, electricals, furniture and more. As a local charity, all money raised by our shops goes straight back into supporting people in Birmingham with a range of services.
