About Prospect Hospice
About This Shop
Prospect Hospice provides end-of-life care to the community of Swindon, Marlborough, and northeast Wiltshire, in the purpose-built hospice and in the homes of patients. The nursing-led care is given freely on the basis of need and is supported by the generosity of the local community, whose financial support, through fundraising, the hospice’s shops, a lottery, legacies, grants, and donations, meet three-quarters of the costs to run the Hospice each year.
The Hospice cares for patients as they reach the end of life, and patients are referred to its services from diagnosis. On referral, they meet with one of their team of mobile, community-based nurses who support patients for the duration of their illness, and are the first contact they have with the services provided within the day hospice and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
In the three decades since Prospect was founded, its reach of care has grown and expanded to reflect the increasing community it serves. When it’s care is needed, Prospect Hospice’s community understands that it’s always there.
