About Trussell Trust
About This Shop
The Trussell Trust works in partnership with local communities to fight poverty and marginalisation in the UK and Bulgaria. The Trust’s largest project is a network of UK foodbanks providing emergency food to people who hit crisis and are struggling to put food on the table. This year over 100,000 people nationwide, including over 30,000 children, will helped by the growing number of UK foodbanks.
As well as generating vital funds, The Trussell Trust’s community charity shops meet people at their point of need. Each shop distributes emergency foodboxes to local people in crisis who have been referred to them by a local frontline care professional such as a doctor or social worker. The shops also host supported volunteer programmes for people with mental, social or physical difficulties with some stores providing free listening services and creative classes too.
Further afield in Bulgaria, The Trussell Trust’s House of Opportunity project provides orphanage leavers with employment experience, life skills training and a loving home, equipping for independent living free from crime, prostitution and human trafficking.
Our vision is to build communities where people of all backgrounds are included and have the opportunity to live in dignity with hope for the future.
